All of the screens in America's Phonics have a select bar at the bottom center of the screen. This allows the students to move forward (or backward) one word at a time.  It is possible to move to the beginning or the end of a file in one step which is sometimes helpful in getting to a specific word. The teacher's manual has alpha and index listings which can be used by clicking the "Select" button and choosing an option from there.
