Extended development of 22 of the
sounds introduced in Level 1 using one and two syllable words. Words
are indexed to focus on primary and variant spellings for each
sound. The objective of this level is for students to achieve
competence over the sounds and the diacritics used to represent
them, and to extend the development of reading and spelling skills. |

Continuation of Level 2.1 with
extended development of the remaining 22 sounds. |

Drill and practice in a third pass
through 22 sounds. |
Extended exercises in sounds,
spelling and reading through the use of one, two and three syllable
words including some with suffixes. Introductory exercises in parts
of speech are also included. The objective of this level is for
students to gain mastery over the phonetic approach to word usage
and to build vocabulary. |

Drill and practice in a third pass
through the remaining 22 sounds. |
Continuation of Level 3.1 with the
addition of words with prefixes and large multi-syllable words. |

Beginning exercises in the use of
words learned. |
Additional words are introduced to
round out a basic vocabulary and a variety of exercises are
presented to initiate the processes of written expression. Students
make a transition from custom dictionaries to a commercial
dictionary. |
